Session 2: Unpacking Implicit Bias

Session Overview:

Understanding bias is vital to our pursuit of equity as a culturally responsive and inclusive practitioner. This session engages participants in understanding implicit bias and how it impacts interactions with others and daily decisions. Through increased self-awareness, recognition of microaggressions, and a better understanding of how stereotypes operate, participants will better minimize bias in the IDD community.

Session Goals:

  • Define implicit bias
  • Reflect on our own biases
  • Consider how our blind spots impact the organizations we serve
